Christmas Charity Raffle

We have again held our Annual Christmas Charity Raffle and raised an amazing £10,500 to add to the £1,500 raised doing the Manchester 10k. This means that our 2 charities will benefit to the tune of £6,000 each.

Our chosen charities are:-
Ollie’s Army – Battling Against Battens
Ollie was diagnosed with Battens Disease at 4 years old. There is no cure and life expectancy is between six and twelve years. It is extremely rare and children with this disease cannot make an enzyme that is responsible for eliminating waste that builds up in the brain. Over time children suffer worsening seizures and progressive loss of sight and motor skills. Eventually children with Battens Disease become blind, tube fed, bedridden and unable to communicate. Battens Disease is always fatal. Ollie’s parents found a specialist in London. After meeting the specialist they decided to have Ollie’s little sister tested. At just 2 years old Amelia was also diagnosed with Battens Disease. Ollie’s Army is raising money to give the family a chance to make memories whilst they still can. Extensive house renovations have also been required so that Ollie and Amelia can be cared for.

Mike Martin
Mike Martin our former Procurement Manager has been forced to give up work due to an illness causing partial blindness, which is unfortunately irreversible. Mike Martin had worked for the Company for over 7 years and was well known and liked by all members of staff. All monies raised will help Mike and his family make the necessary adjustments to their lives.

A huge thank you to our suppliers and customers for donating prizes, our Directors for providing prizes, and an even bigger thank you to our staff for buying lots and lots of raffle tickets.

In addition the office staff all paid £5 to wear their Christmas Jumpers and Ian Hasnip, our Operations Director, won the most votes from the staff to win champagne & chocolates
