Birtwistles Sponsors Grosvenor Casino Chef of the Year 2015

At Birtwistles we’re always looking to support talent in the catering industry and this year is no exception, as we proudly sponsored the ‘Grosvenor Casino Chef of the Year’ award 2015. The competition was open to all Grosvenor Casino team members who were looking for a chance to impress with their culinary skills.

A whole host of extremely talented chefs crossed knives, saucepans and recipes in a battle for the title, which was held at the University College Birmingham. They all worked tirelessly around the clock to create some wonderful dishes to state their case for being crowned Chef of the Year.

The high level of skill, execution and presentation of the dishes meant that judging was not only very close but very difficult, all the ingredients for some strong debate. However, as in every competition there has to be a winner and this year’s victorious chef is Leigh Stark from Park Tower. Leigh received his trophy from the revered Michelin star chef Adam Bennett.

Special commendation was given to Tom from Plymouth and Paul from Sheffield who came within a knife’s edge of taking the title. Congratulations also go to Govinda from Luton, Thomas from Dundee, Andy McNairn and Stuart Bowker for reaching the final and helping to make the event such a great occasion.
