Birt Background

Thank you Jimmy for 23 years of passionate service.

Jimmy Bridge is a well-loved and popular figure who’s been a full-time butcher at Birtwistles since 1992. He recently turned 65 and is now retiring from full-time work and getting ready to enjoy a more peaceful, relaxing retirement. Something he’s definitely earned during his time here!

He’s not quite ready to completely hang up his knife just yet though… He plans to continue working with us part-time; doing the job he loves 2 days a week. Despite this however, we’ll miss seeing him every day. It’s the end of an era.

We take real pride in our people, so we couldn’t let such an occasion pass without giving Jimmy our recognition and a genuine thank you. After all, this is a man who’s dedicated almost a quarter of a century to helping us to consistently deliver great quality, passion and service to our customers. That’s something that means a lot to us.

We presented him with a cheque from the directors for his many years of service and a tasty treat too. His colleagues, and friends, also organised a generous collection for Jimmy, which only goes to show just how popular he is here.

Thank you for everything Jimmy. We wish you a very happy retirement.
