National Sausage Week gets full marks at Chase Grammar School

The biggest sausage celebration of the year got underway from 2-8 November 2015. The 18th annual British Sausage Week put the nation’s best bangers in the spotlight. This year’s theme, ‘Sausages of Distinction’ brought a touch of class to proceedings and what better way to celebrate this than with a very excited group of pupils from Chase Grammar, and some of our finest sausages too?

We supply the school through our partner Holroyd Howe. We knew this was going to be a tough crowd so we enlisted our very finest in Jill Holgate (National Sales Manager) and Richard Fitzgerald (Sausage & Burger Production Manager) to talk to the pupils about where the meat comes from and how the humble sausage has become such a mainstay of British households.

Richard began proceedings by taking the pupils through the sausage making process and educating them on the high quality ingredients used, such as farm assured pork. Then it was time for them to have some fun and try their hands at linking the sausages themselves. Needless to say the kids loved it! To finish off a wonderful visit, the sausages that the children had made were then cooked and eaten by all.

The feedback from the school & Holroyd Howe:  “it was a fantastic day, enjoyed by all”. As a result of the success we’ve been invited in to another school in December.

We think that deserves a 10/10.
